My Thoughts on Resolutions

11:31 AM

I have never really understood New Year’s Resolutions. It just seems like a promise that is just going to be broken anyway.  At least that is what my experience has been for me.

How many of you have actually kept true to your New Year’s Resolution for the ENTIRE year? I know I haven’t…but then again, I have to make one right? J

Instead I choose goals that I think I can achieve that I am going to start NOW.

(Well really I started after Christmas.)

After getting off track of my diet and exercise plan I see that I have gained some of the weight I worked so hard to get off.  So NOW I choose to get back on track.  I quit the gym I was a part of in Ballard because it wasn’t offering everything I wanted.  So NOW I choose to join a gym that gives me everything I need, instead of trying to coast by on my own.

But there are other ways I choose to better myself.  I am going to travel more.   I already have trips planned for this next year.  Chicago, Reno (again for a Wedding) and Austin with more to come.

Music.  I have been working full time and going to school part time and I hate that I have made that my excuse to explore this passion.  So I choose NOW to start working on that more.  I don’t need to wait until 1/1/2014 to start that.

My biggest goal/challenge for myself: staying in God’s word.   For so long I have said that I am going to do a devotional or a bible study etc.  So I have decided to start NOW.  Why wait when I already have all the tools?

My main question as we go into this New Year: What is keeping you from starting your goals now?
